Our fees are competitive and never hidden but are disclosed up front. Due to our outstanding computer system, our staff level remains low so we have less overhead, which in turn, saves our clients money.
President/CEO
John E. Pearson, PHR, SHRM-CP
John Pearson is the CEO and President of Action Professional Outsourcing. He founded the company in 2001 after a successful career in HR and accounting at several large corporations. John is a proud graduate of Hardin-Simmons University, completing his BBA in Accounting in 1985. He also holds his certifications in PHR (Professional Human Resources) and SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional).
Originally from Santa Fe, Texas, John now calls Abilene his home. He is the proud father of two sons, one of which is married, and the other is engaged. John’s favorite new title is grandfather.
Beyond his professional commitments, John is deeply rooted in his values of community engagement. He actively supports the Narrow Gate Foundation, a non-profit organization close to his heart, where he is a Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors. He also regularly supports several Abilene non-profit organizations, exemplifying his belief in giving back and making a positive impact in the community.

Joshua Fry
Born and raised in Abilene, Josh has built his life around hard work, family, and a genuine appreciation for how businesses operate behind the scenes. He is a parent of three children and a proud grandparent, roles that have shaped both his personal values and professional approach. Before transitioning into bookkeeping, Josh managed a heavy truck repair shop, where he discovered a strong interest in the operational side of business—from payroll management to day-to-day financial organization. That experience sparked a passion for bookkeeping, and today he brings the same practical, hands-on perspective to helping businesses stay organized, accurate, and financially healthy.

Chief Communications Officer
Brooke Bowman
Brooke earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Education from OU in 2005. She is an entrepreneur at heart, driven by creativity, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Prior to moving to Abilene, she built a successful cookie decorating business and became an official partner of OU, reflecting her ability to turn passion into a thriving brand.
Brooke moved to Abilene with her husband to help her brother with his business, and she is a proud mom to three boys and a “cookie” to three grandchildren.

Senior Accounts Manager
Callie Pearson
Callie is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial–Organizational Psychology at Walden University, which she began in February 2023. Her academic focus centers on consulting and leadership development, reflecting the broad scope of the I-O psychology field. She was inducted into the National Society of Leadership Success in November 2025.
Callie brings practical workplace experience from H-E-B, where she has served as a Service Lead and Bookkeeper, developing strengths in leadership, operations, and organizational support. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tarleton State University and a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development, providing a strong foundation in human behavior across both developmental and organizational contexts. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Callie is supported by her husband and remains inspired by the love and memory of her daughter, Aubrey.

Melissa Solis-Robles brings a wealth of expertise to her role as the Benefits Specialist at Action Professional Outsourcing. With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry as a General Manager and Human Resource Manager in healthcare, Melissa has honed her skills in various areas such as payroll management, recruitment, training, and financial audits. Her background includes overseeing multiple locations within the company, conducting P&L reviews, and spearheading sales and marketing initiatives. As a seasoned professional, Melissa has also served as a mentor to new general managers, showcasing her commitment to developing talent within the organization.

Jennifer Reyes
Certified in payroll through the American Payroll Association’s Fundamental Payroll Certification program, I bring a strong foundation in payroll practices supported by hands‑on experience across medical, government, nonprofit, and higher‑education environments. With over 30 years of customer service experience in a wide range of roles, I’ve built a reputation for reliability, empathy, and a commitment to delivering accurate, high‑quality work. My background reflects a blend of technical skill, adaptability, and a people‑first approach that strengthens every team I join.
I have an adult daughter who’s soon to be married, along with two wonderful bonus daughters I share with my boyfriend of two years. In our free time, we love going to concerts and cheering on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. Our home life is full, fun, and always moving, and it keeps me grounded outside of my professional world.

Becky Willson is a valued member of the APO team, having joined on September 11, 2017. In her role as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant for APO, she wears many hats and provides support across various departments. With over 25 years of marriage under her belt, Becky finds joy in spending time with her three lovely granddaughters. She takes delight in watching them play softball and tending to her flower beds. Becky’s dedication to both her work and family shines through in everything she does, making her an integral part of the APO family.
